From February 26 to March 1, 2026, the traditional Winter Festival “Durmitor 2026” took place in Žabljak, Montenegro. Organized by the Montenegrin Association of Sports Recreation “Sport for All,” the event brought together 197 participants from 21 teams to compete in numerous sports and recreational disciplines.

Competitions were held in various sports and recreational activities, including mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, darts, and chess, as well as winter disciplines such as slalom and giant slalom (for both men and women, in categories under and over 40). Contests in sledding, precision snowball throwing, and snow sculpture making were also held. These activities took place at several locations, including the Savin Kuk ski resort, the Sports Center, and the “Gorske Oči” hotel.

The festival was characterized by a positive sporting atmosphere, high fair play standards, and no recorded incidents. The organization was rated as successful, with efficient execution of all planned activities and seamless conditions for the competitions.

The festival was officially opened by Zoran Jojić, Director of the Sports Directorate at the Government of Montenegro, who emphasized the importance of recreational sports in promoting healthy lifestyles. Borislav Delibašić, a member of the Organizing Committee, also addressed the attendees during the ceremony.

At the closing ceremony held at the “Enigma” hotel, Branko Vujović, President of the Association Sport for All Serbia and the Balkan Association of Workers’ Sports (BAWS), praised the high level of regional cooperation. The President of the Organizing Committee, Gligorije Vojinović, thanked all participants for their fair play and contribution to the spirit of unity.

In the competitive segment, the team from the SRD „TV Crne Gore“ won first place, the “Trebjesa” Brewery team took second, and “Plantaže” finished third.

This year’s festival confirmed its regional significance with the participation of a delegation from Serbia and competitors from Croatia.

“Durmitor 2026” once again proved to be a key event for the promotion of sports recreation and winter tourism in Montenegro.
