The first event in the calendar of the Balkan Association of Workers’ Sports (BAWS) for 2025, as in previous years, is the “Montenegro Winter Festival Sport for All, Durmitor 2025” organized by the Montenegrin Sports Recreation Association “Sport for All”. The festival was held from February 27th to March 2nd, 2025. at Mountain Durmitor – Žabljak.

The festival was opened by prof. Dr. Budimir Bijelić, President of the Assembly of the Montenegrin Association of Sports Recreation “Sport for All”.
Due to the lack of snow, the organizers, as in previous years, skilfully adapted the festival program to the weather conditions. Around 190 participants from 15 sports-recreational and union organizations took part in the Festival, which was held in the Žabljak Sports Center and the “Gorske oči” hotel.
Sports and recreational competitions are organized in nine team and individual disciplines. In addition to indoor football, volleyball, table tennis, darts and chess, the participants also competed in new interesting recreational activities: hitting targets, shooting at a goal and Baggo, as well as making snow figures.
In addition to the competition, all participants were provided with an unlimited number of free entrances to the Durmitor National Park, so the organizers used every available opportunity to invite and motivate the participants to hike for several kilometers, in light snow at an altitude of about 1500 m, which additionally contributed to the health effect of the overall stay of the participants in the Festival program.
At the awarding ceremony, the festival was closed by Zoran Jojić, Director of the Sports Directorate of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro.
The organizers of the “Ski Festival Durmitor 2025” successfully gathered recreational athletes, showing flexibility and enthusiasm despite the weather challenges.
