During the 6th International Sports Games of Sport for All, held in Ohrid on May 21, 2022, the General Assembly of the Balkan Association of Workers’ Sports (BAWS) convened for an important election session. The session was attended by delegates from various national associations:
Dragan Ćurlinov from the Macedonian Association “Sport for All Without Borders”, Branko Vujović from the Association Sport for All Serbia, Ivanka Karakoleva from the Bulgarian Workers’ Federation “Sport and Health”, Vlasku Konstantin from the Romanian Federation Sport for All and Zoran Kažić from the Montenegrin Association of Sports Recreation “Sport for All”
Following the vote by delegates from Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia, Branko Vujović was elected as the new President of BAWS. He will represent the Republic of Serbia during the upcoming mandate period.
On the proposal of President Vujović, Mr. Dejan Marsenić was elected as the Secretary of BAWS. The assembly also adopted a plan and program for future activities. Key decisions included relocating the BAWS headquarters to the Republic of Serbia, defining the upcoming calendar of activities, and taking further steps to enhance the organization, which has been active since 2004.
The Association Sport for All Serbia extends its gratitude to its Balkan partners for their trust and support. The next BAWS meeting is scheduled to take place in St. Konstantin and Elena, Bulgaria, where the 18th International Workers’ Sports Festival will be held.
